More than just an accounting company, we work closely with our clients as a one-stop shop, assisting in implementing systems and providing business advice from start up to cash flow. Our focus on software solutions and automation helps to minimize the potential for human error, and secure cloud storage makes us more accessible while providing peace of mind. No travel time means no travel costs and makes it easier to keep records up to date, so no more trying to hunt down a year's worth of receipts, either!

From our office in Okotoks, Alberta, we work with businesses in Calgary and all throughout the Foothills area, including Okotoks, High River, Longview, Black Diamond and Turner Valley.

About Diana Stefanyshin

Diana Stefanyshin

I started in accounting back in 1991, when it just kind of found me. I continued working for other companies for quite a few years, keeping records, preparing reports, payroll (you know, all the fun stuff), but also helping develop new policies, procedures and software implementations. I took night classes at SAIT, going for my Diploma in Business Administration with an Accounting major, where I graduated with honors in 2008.

I established Bottom Line Bookkeeping a year later, giving me a place where I could work towards my personal vision of how bookkeeping should be done. I've always been a bit of a technology junkie, always wanting the latest and greatest, and I could really see the potential for technology to change the way bookkeeping and accounting were approached.

What I love best about this field is solving problems for my clients. I believe in a transparent, collaborative approach to accounting, which helps me identify individual problems they're facing and work together to find a solution.

Where old school accounting really just comes down to recording history, I try to take a more proactive approach, working closely with clients to develop complete business solutions.

Making it easy for clients to "set it and forget it" allows them to focus on what they do best, while I do what I do best.

Responsibilities

  • Bookkeeping - maintaining quarterly, monthly and weekly data entry in Xero
  • Payroll
  • Paying bills using cheques and telpay
  • Receivable invoicing
  • Xero set up
  • Filing of source documents
  • Consulting with customers

Requirements

  • 2-5 years' experience full cycle bookkeeping or post secondary education
  • Proven ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment with ever changing priorities
  • Knowledge of Canada Revenue Agency guidelines for allowable expenses
  • Knowledge of CRA Compliance filings
  • Experience working with Xero, preferably a Xero Certified Advisor
  • CPB designation or the willingness to complete is an asset
